Help Your Garden Flourish with Bee Pollinator Houses

If you dream of turning your garden into a flourishing haven, introducing pollinators is a great way to start! Plenty of insects spread pollen to plants and flowers but leafcutter bees are known as “super pollinators” because they are among some of the most effective helpers—doing up to as much work as twenty honey bees!

At Kind Bee Farms, we provide Bee Houses (also known as pollinator houses) for plant lovers and gardeners to introduce leafcutter bees to their garden environment. Installing one of these houses in your garden will give your leafcutter bees a place to call home as they take your plot from seed to overflowing greenery.

What Is a Bee House?

Leafcutter bees are solitary and prefer their own personal space. Rather than sharing a hive with other bees, they rest and lay eggs in single-bee nesting tubes. The bee houses from Kind Bee Farms are wooden boxes that contain these nesting tubes, giving your leafcutter bees a separate space to rest while keeping them in the same general area. Our nesting tubes mimic the natural holes in wood and plant stems that leafcutter bees typically make a home in. This simple design makes it easy for gardeners to look after their bees instead of managing a busy and crowded hive!

How to Care for Bee Pollinator Houses

Pollinator houses are built to reflect a leafcutter bee’s natural home and are very easy to look after. However, you can perform a couple of small tasks to protect your bees and keep their homes in good shape:

Once the growth season ends, you can overwinter your healthy nesting tubes by placing your bee house in a cool, dry place, such as a shelf in your unheated garage. Keep the cardboard box your bees arrived in, as this provides a simple and easy place for them to rest. Make sure to keep the bee house away from moisture to prevent your tubes from damage.

If your current tubes are damaged or suffered an infestation, you can order replacement tubes from our shop.

Pollinator Houses from Kind Bee Farms

Our pollinator houses from Kind Bee Farms are cozy, comfortable havens for leafcutter bees! Your flying friends can snuggle up in their nesting tubes and enjoy protection from the rain as they rest up before another day of pollinating. Installing a bee house in your garden will help increase the bee population, and you will see your plants bloom and grow better because of it.

If you want your garden to come to life with a bountiful harvest and colourful blooms, install a pollinator house and put your bees to work. Soon, your garden will be the talk of the town! To learn more about our pollinator houses, visit our shop or reach us from the contact page.
